If I could tell you one thing, it's that you don't have to be an artist to make something. You just have to start.
Bee the Light Art Studio began in our home — literally at the kitchen table. My daughter Kyleigh and I have always made art together: me painting, her drawing. Somewhere between paintbrushes and pencils, we realized the thing we loved most wasn't just making art — it was the way it made us feel, and the way it could make someone else's day a little brighter. We decided to share it with the world.
I spent over ten years in Learning & Development and Human Resources, helping people grow in their careers and confidence. When I decided to start the studio, I knew I wanted to do more than sell art. I wanted to lead others in discovering their inner artist — through classes, resources, and creative experiences for businesses, families, and individuals all over the country.
My dream isn't to become a big-name artist. It's to open a real studio here in our small town where my daughter and I can create, build a welcoming community, offer art programs for locals who don't have much to do, and give opportunities both virtually and in person. My hope is to make this my full-time work — serving others, building community, and passing the blessing on to my daughter as she grows in both talent and age.
We are a Christian family, and our mission and values flow from that faith — but this studio is for everyone. Every piece is handmade with creativity, patience, and purpose, and we donate 10% of every eligible sale to domestic violence support efforts.
I'm a domestic violence survivor myself. I know how important it is to spread the message and make sure there are resources for those who are silently suffering without a support system. My long-term hope is to one day open the studio to DV victims, offering a creative outlet to rediscover who they are — to sew the ripped fabric of themselves back together, as I have done. That's what it means to us to BEE the light in a dark world: bringing love, joy, and peace to others through art.
Thanks for being here, I hope my artwork brings a smile to your heart! ❤️
